Passionate about drawing and educated in the field of art and design from a very early age, Alex Pirard’s professional career and style are evidenced in a large variety of projects covering different disciplines: product design, interior design, automotive design and especially yacht design, where he is able to combine his professional work with another one of his great passions, sailing.
Alex Pirard (Barcelona, 1978) graduated with a degree in product design from the Eina School of Design and Art of Barcelona (2002) and obtained a master’s degree in automotive design from the Elisava School of Design in Barcelona (2003). He continued his professional development as an automotive designer for Volvo Strategic Design Barcelona (2004) and BMW Gmbh, in the “M & Individual” Department (Munich, 2005).
At the same time in 2003 he began collaboration with Difer Yachts, where he worked on the development of the entire yacht line, from 38” to 100”. This cooperation resulted in the development of the Difer 54´, a motor yacht with sporty, minimalist lines which was first presented at the Cannes International Yacht Show in 2005, marking the first of his projects in the field of Yacht Design.
In 2007, Alex Pirard founded his own design studio and expanded collaboration to include several international companies and boat builders, including: CNM, Vismara Marine, and Carbon Dream. His studio’s strategy today, and for the future, is to increase collaboration to include new international customers and companies in the nautical and industrial sectors which identify innovation, style, technology and quality as key values.
